About Me: Linda is an emerging writer with a flair for dark comedy. Her first half-hour TV pilot, ‘Grand Theft Post-Mortem’ achieved numerous competition placings including the TRIFORCE/UKTV Writerslam (2021, shortlist), Short Com TV Sitcom Writing Competition (2021, longlist); Funny Women, Comedy Writing Award (2022, longlist); Table Read my Screenplay, Park City (2022, quarterfinalist) & the Scriptwriters & Co Festival (2022, finalist). Her second pilot, ‘Debbie Nesbitt’s not Dead Yet’ gained similar attention, first achieving a longlisting in the ‘Female Pilot Club Writers’ Initiative’ (2022) followed by placings with the ISA Network – Unique Voices Competition (2022, quarterfinalist); Page Turner Competition (2023, quarterfinalist); Scriptwriters & Co Festival (2023, quarterfinalist); Creative Screenwriting Pilot Competition (2023, quarterfinalist) and Short Com TV Sitcom Writing Competition (2023, longlist). In other successes, Linda has been selected to take part in three writing challenges hosted by Slackline Productions (2021- 2023) where her short plays ‘Grand Theft Post-Mortem’ (original format/concept), ‘A Couples’ Guide to Plantlife’ & ‘Pasta Can’t Buy You Love’ were written overnight, rehearsed and performed in just twenty-four hours. Her ten-minute online piece ‘Indigestion’ was also included in the Lights Down Productions’ Light On Showcase – Series 2 (2022) and is still available to view on YouTube and Scenesaver. Linda has a BA in English and Drama from Goldsmiths, University of London and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Portsmouth.
