About me

I'm a British New Zealand playwright who particularly enjoys working with comedy and social issues. My play, #Me Not was highly commended in the NZ Playwrighting Association competition for short plays in 2023.  I have written a number of short plays and like to focus on addressing social issues with a comedic approach.

My first feature length play, My AI Twin will be premiering at the Basement Theatre in Auckland in July 2025. The story focuses on a woman campaigning to be mayor who uses an AI Twin to disastrous effect.

I've directed all my plays and have therefore honed the action and dialogue so it all works.

I'd love to hear from people who would like to put on the plays or discuss how these could be adapted for their audience.

Currently looking for an agent, I'm also open to writing a commissioned work

Reviews:

Judge\'s comment: \"This futuristic short play, with just a cast of two, Is an excellent piece of science fiction.
The dialogue is tight and the world you have created – where climate change is out of control, where
fertility is dropping and where commercial imperatives rule – is a brilliantly depicted dystopia. I really
enjoyed this eminently performable play\".

\"You have such a talent for situating contemporary issues within a very human context\" (Playmarket reviewer)

\"Food for thought\" (Audience)

\"Handmade\'s tale, but more real\" (Audience)
