About me

I was a late comer to drama school after a varied career in social work.  I had studied drama at school but was unable to pursue it any further without finance and my Dad was a painter and decorator and the arts was something you splash on the wall and not a job.

Graduating in 2018, it was a baptism of fire. Surviving on crumbs of money and finding it extremely difficult to access paid acting work, I found real solace in writing. Originally I was invited to read other people’s plays at the Actors Centre and then began writing myself as way to tell stories with voices not  heard, creating worlds where characters live and breathe. Whilst it started out as a way to create acting roles for myself, to be honest I found my voice, writing where I don’t have to wait for someone to give me permission to create .  Writing serves a purpose beyond personal expression; it is intended to be shared for educational purposes, enjoyment, provoking thought, or inspiring action.  And I’ve got plenty of stories to tell

I'm an emerging writer.  Have written two full length plays which I'm hoping to get to stage soon.  I  had a work in progress- part one of a new play  New Order Part One performed at the Union Theatre in February 2025. I have just participated in the Write Track Programme at the Mansfield Palace Theatre ( R&D , Dramaturgy input through to a rehearsed reading  April 2025)  after my play The Bath was one of the 4 new plays selected. I have also just finished first draft of a pilot TV comedy.
