Shahid Iqbal Khan writes for theatre and radio. His writing journey started with Phizzical Productions with his early plays The Smile of Despair (Attenborough Arts Centre) and Stardust (Belgrade Theatre). He subsequently joined the Write To Play programme at Graeae Theatre where he developed the play 10 Nights.

10 Nights first premiered at Bush Theatre in 2021. It was then revived in 2024 at Omnibus Theatre and toured to Tobacco Factory Theatres and Curve Theatre. The remount in 2025 opened at Riverside Studios before touring to Derby Theatre, Lowry Theatre, Lawrence Batley Theatre and Birmingham Hippodrome.

His play Jinnity was shortlisted for the George Devine Award in 2023.
 
He is on the Genesis New Writers programme (Almeida Theatre commission) and is a recipient of the Peter Shaffer commission from the National Theatre (in partnership with Octagon Theatre). He is also on attachment to Paines Plough in 2024 as part of the Peggy Ramsay/Film 4 Bursary.

On radio, he made his Afternoon Drama debut with Love Across The Ages (BBC Radio 4). He has been commissioned to adapt the book The Last of the Mohicans into a drama series. The series will air on Radio 4 in December 2025.
