About me

I'm a writer, director and dramaturg, originally from Renfrewshire and now based in Edinburgh. I often write plays through collaborative co-writing and devising processes. I have a strong interest in intersectional feminist storytelling, creative access and contemporary retelling of classic myths and folklore. My work centres the stories of women and non-binary people, mixing pathos with moments of dark humour, to surprise and connect with audiences.

My Plays

Echo: a musical monologue

Synopsis:

A new musical comedy inspired by the Greek myth of Echo, a nymph who was cursed to only repeat the words of other people.

This contemporary feminist play with music reimagines Echo as a singer-songwriter who, just after being offered a record deal, is cursed by a an older rival to only perform covers. As her creative identity (and chance at musical stardom!) slips away, she must break the enchantment and reclaim her voice before it’s too late.

Echo explores the silencing of women's voices, society pitting women against each other, and what it means to find your creative voice.
