About me

Ages ago, 2005 in fact, I received a Masters’ Degree in creative writing from Swansea University. Since then I’ve been trying to justify it to my parents.

I'm passionate about writing, of course I am, but that's not any different to other writers. How about this then? I'm five foot nine and take a size thirteen shoe. Two of them in fact. Imagine that. Sensational balance.

I've been on the BBC Voices talent programme, several invite-only scriptwriting courses & been commissioned to write monologues for both the BBC and Sherman Theatre. During lockdown, I wrote a series of short pieces that were selected & placed across multiple film festivals and, in 2019, I was shortlisted for the BBC and National Theatre Wales Writer in Residence prize (no, I didn't win. Must've been something to do with the feet).

What If He Asks

Synopsis:

A series of monologues - an old dad & a young dad united in a dual final scene.

Through Star Wars, University drop-offs, robberies in fast food outlets, the High Seas of the attic and sleeping in the doorway of a WH Smiths, What If He Asks charts a path through fatherhood that somehow seems so very familiar.
