Niki Hatzidis is a Greek-American, award-nominated playwright and writer based in Hertfordshire. Her plays have been presented in New York, Massachusetts, California, and the UK. Niki has been a contributing writer and features editor for OnStage Blog and a satirical writer for Ladyspike Media, as well as numerous other publications and podcasts. Niki's work aims to be women-centric and driven with a strong focus on women from history that society might have overlooked or forgotten. Synopsis:

A dynamic of modern relationships where people are unwilling to be vulnerable, is the struggle to form real connections. Val and Jake are two guarded and broken people who can’t get out of their own way. Their up bringing, environment, weaknesses and past relationships all play a factor in the present connections they forge. They fall back onto their safety net; their wit, sexuality, and tough exterior. Ultimately they miss out on their soulmate for the simplest of reasons; fear.

Setting the Sky on Fire


Synopsis:

On the evening of July 15th, 1945, women of all ages and backgrounds, in or near Los Alamos New Mexico, looked towards the southern horizon hoping to see... something. In the past two and a half years, women from all over the country arrived in Los Alamos, a secret military compound in the middle of the desert. Some where scientists, others were part of the Women’s Army Corps. There were the wives of the scientist who had followed their husbands to this remote place, children in toe. There were women from neighboring pueblos that worked as maids, nannies and technicians and there were the women who kept the who place running. And then, of course, there was Kitty Oppenheimer. Almost three long years had lead all of them to this moment. The gadget was being tested a couple hundred miles south of Los Alamos and they wanted to see how it worked. Would it work? Did they want it to work? What happen next if it did? What was the gadget meant to do anyway. The women sit together until the early morning, eyes wearily fixed south pondering all these questions, knowing that at any moment the world could change forever.
