About me
I am an award-winning playwright, actress and the artistic director of Renegade Theatre running arts and heritage projects for and about the community of North Kensington. I directed The Wornington Word, a film about the regeneration of her housing estate, winning Best UK Documentary at The Portobello Film Festival. Other work with Renegade includes The Story Stall performed outside in Golborne Market by 20 North Kensington kids and the site specific All Our Rules ( None of Yours) performed by 10 North Kensington women in the oldest adventure playground in the UK. I have also written for the BBC’s Eastenders and Channel 4s Random Acts. I won the Meyer Whitworth Award for my play, Shraddha produced at Soho Theatre and am co -author of Rage and Reason Women Playwrights on Playwriting (Methuen). I co-directed the acclaimed play, Dictating to The Estate, by Nathaniel McBride about the resistance of Grenfell Tower residents in the lead up to the catastrophic fire.
