About me
Mo Hansch is a writer and director whose work moves fluidly between theatre, film, and radio. Her first play, The Seventh Swimmer—co-written with Tony Voller—won the Stables New Writing Prize and premiered in July 2022. Since then, her screenwriting has gained recognition at the IMDB Bath Screenwriting Competition (twice a finalist) and the Women Over 50 Film Festival, where she won Best Short Film Script in 2022. Her script Shapeshifters was a finalist at the UK Film Festival and went on to be produced by one of the judges.
In 2024, she made her directorial debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Mo gravitates toward creating original ensemble pieces full of offbeat characters and dialogue that lives in the grey areas—layered, playful, and sharp. When she’s not writing, you’ll probably find her deep in a rabbit hole of historical research, happily lost in the details.
