But They Seemed So Nice...

Synopsis:

‘But They Seemed So Nice’ is a psychological drama about a charity worker who loses a friend to domestic abuse. She wants to help the public spot other offenders who’re hiding in plain sight - but that’s a struggle for the audience, given how nice the offenders seem!

When people ask about the story, I tell them it’s ‘The People vs OJ Simpson’ meets Blumhouse’s ‘The Invisible Man’ – it presents a unique glimpse into the mindset of abusers, but asks the audience to make their own judgement about what they’re seeing.

They meet a seemingly nice lawyer and his vulnerable girlfriend. The lawyer says everything’s fine – sure, they argue, but doesn’t every couple? Yes, he asked her to move in the night they met – but she was safer with him than with the other men in her life. Besides, no-one’s been hit.

So - should we really involve the police based on that evidence?
