About me
Martha Jamieson is a Playwright and Creative Facilitator from Liverpool. Her writing projects underrepresented voices and tells untold stories. She writes theatre that is beautifully, relatably and sometimes painfully human, theatre that tells the extraordinary stories of ordinary people
Martha is passionate about injecting play into the lives of adults by sparking a joyful and playful curiosity in audience members when watching her writing performed.
Her play Stoppage Time, dedicated to pioneering women's football team, The Manchester Corinthians was selected as a writer's response play to Simon Castle's Two Tribes and was performed at The Leeds Playhouse (November 2023). Her play Olive Branch was performed for Theatre in the Rough’s ecology and astronomy project around Skyglow at Sudley Walled Garden (August 2024). Her play Skies in the Cloud, is a queer, ethereal exploration of the beautiful simplicities of what it means to be human (performed at The Manchester Autumn Fringe Festival 2022 and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023).
Martha thrives working in socially engaged and community settings and has worked as an artist and facilitator in prisons, community centres, with children and young people, and with LGBTQIA+ adults.
