About me

I am an award-winning working-class playwright from Middlesbrough. My scripts have been performed at 9 theatres, including the Tristan Bates, the Customs House, Live Theatre and Bolton Octagon Theatre. I was the joint winner of the Peter Lathan Prize for New Playwriting in 2022 for my one-act drama Grown Up Writin', which went on to be performed at The Customs House theatre.

I also work across multiple other genres, including prose, podcast, poetry and short film. I was the 2023 winner of the Sid Chaplin Northern Writers' Award for my novel-in-progress, and am represented for prose by Elise Middleton at YMU Literary.

Synopsis:

It’s September 2007, and the last year of school hasn’t started well for 16 year old Kayleigh. She’s already facing detention – unless she can convince her rule-abiding friend Ruth to forge her Mam’s signature. Yet while Kayleigh tries to wheedle her way out of one kind of trouble, she looks set to fall into another – courtesy of 21 year old delivery driver Sam…
