About me
Theatre has always been a central focus in my life. I worked my Equity ticket as a stage manager in monthly rep (back in the days). My main livelihood since then has been in other fields, but I have been writing seriously for theatre since 2001, and have also offered a creative consultancy, involving me with other writers and artists.
Plays performed include:
The Liberty Truck (Nairobi, 2025 - Middle Temple Hall, London, 2018)
Juliana, after Strindberg (libretto for a chamber opera, with composer Joseph Phibbs – Cheltenham Music Festival and touring, 2018)
The Father, after Strindberg (Trafalgar Studios, London, 2016 – Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, 2012), radio version presented on BBC Radio 3, 2013.
Marriage, after Gogol (Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, 2012)
The Specimen (Drill Hall, London, 2010)
Joe & I (King’s Head, London, 2005)
Image to Gesture, my account of an experimental project using dreamwork as a resource for dramatic improvisation (devised with Colin Ellwood at Rose Bruford College) appeared in The Creativity of Social Dreaming (W. Lawrence, ed. 2010)
