My Plays

The Exterminator.

Synopsis:

What if warcrimes weren't happening somewhere else - but in your living room?

A Tenant’s life is uprooted when a Squatter claims her home as his own. Set within the confines of a single flat, The Exterminator becomes a razor-sharp allegory for imperialism, conquest, and the erosion of autonomy. Playwright Kara Hardie blends dark comedy, audience interaction, and physical theatre to transform a domestic setting into a symbolic warzone.

The Exterminator arrives in a time of global urgency. As headlines continue to document ongoing genocides and occupations, Hardie draws from her family’s experience of the 1974 invasion of Cyprus to achieve a timeless and immersive reflection on power, resilience, and the politics of space. Theatre is used as a tool for igniting conversation, empathy, and resistance through performance.
