A modern retelling of one of Shakespeares most magical works, brings fairies, actors and totally dramatic humans to Pocklington.

Anoraks. Gunzels. Railbuffs. Trainiacs. Photters. Ferroequinologists. People Who Like Trains. Thomas (no relation to ‘The Tank Engine’) loves trains. He always has. He worked on trains, travelled to see trains, and spent hours a day watching them. His whole life has been spent chasing trains, and always chasing after him was his partner - Charlie. Charlie did not like trains, but loved Thomas.

Thomas now sits alone in his camping chair, on the top of his and Charlie’s favourite hill, looking down on the valley below, waiting for a train to pass that never seems to arrive. With little to write about in his journal, he spends this time reflecting on his life with Charlie - and working out how to overcome his newfound grief, and how to keep living in the absence of our loved ones.

Burnby in Bloom is a vibrant, multi-age community play that brings the history of Burnby Hall Gardens to life. Through playful Discoverers, wise Ancients, and mischievous Frogs, audiences journey from hidden treasures to extraordinary adventures, celebrating the legacy of Percy and Katharine Stewart.

A verbatim play, built from relaxed interviews and chats with unpaid carers at Gateshead Carers Association. Debuted at the charity's AGM in 2019, 'Christmas with the Stevens' shares a glance through the windows of the home of the Stevens, celebrating Christmas despite the challenges faced in their lives.

Teddy and Ed sit by their favourite childhood tree, making fun of where life has led them. This is a short play about grief, growing up, and stolen mars bars.

'New Girl' is a performance that explores the thoughts and feelings we may have when we see someone who is 'different' to us.

Inspired by children's book, 'Mummy, There's A New Girl' by Danielle Webb, this production gives young people, and grown-ups alike, an insight into how we can learn about one another and champion what makes each and everyone of us unique.

Using interactive storytelling, integrated sign, and audience participation, this production is for all children.

Kit Kat Co is a lively, heartfelt show co-created with members of Carecent and Nightlight, inspired by their own memories, interests, and connections to York’s Rowntree heritage. Part of York Theatre Royal’s Sweet Legacies project, it captures the bustle, humour, and unexpected drama of life on the factory floor - strict supervisors, chaotic conveyor belts, ten-minute dashes to the loo, and friendships forged in chocolate-scented air.

From synchronized swims at Rowntree Park’s old open-air pool to karaoke nights at the pub, the piece celebrates the joy and community that made the factory feel like home. Rooted in real experiences, it’s a warm reminder that life is sweetest when shared together.

Inspired by the original fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen - this play brings to life the wonderful world, inhabited by Magical Creatures, Witches, Clever Princesses, Mischievous Crows, and a rock group called the Bandits. At the heart of this story is Kai and Gerda, best friends who go to the end of the world to save each other.

Performed at Pocklington Arts Centre by Thunk-It Youth Theatre and Wolds Wonders.

Created and performed by members of Kyra Women’s Project, the script was brought together using the words, stories and emotions of women who shared their experiences with the project.

The project was a collaboration between Kyra, Thunk It Theatre and York Theatre Royal, and funded by a Golden Award from the Rank Foundation. The film featured at York Theatre Royal, and Kyra’s International Women’s Day celebrations on Wednesday 8 March.

The end is nigh… literally. Pam and Arwen have no one else to spend the end of the world with other than each other and unfortunately, they’re sisters. So along with the all out party that comes with the apocalypse, is a friendly dose of sibling rivalry.
