Jay Astraeus (they/them) is a Birmingham based writer focusing on disabled and nonbinary phenomenologies. They also work as a proof-reader and dramaturg.

Outside of playwriting, Jay Astraeus is a performance poet and short story writer.

Their work has been featured in the Transmuted Journal, and was featured as part of a Queer Arts Festival in with the University of Glasgow.

The Long Flood


Synopsis:

At the end of the world, human connection feels frivolous. Especially new ones.
Charlie is struggling with the mystery of their partners survival.
Joan is grieving the recent death of her husband. They need each other to survive, but attempts at connection feel shallow, resentful.
All the while, the flood creeps ever higher, trapping them on the top floor of their apartment building.
