About me
From a small village in Buckinghamshire, Hannah Kennedy is a playwright and screenwriter.
They were one of the twelve writers on Channel 4's esteemed 4Screenwriting course in 2024 and is a winner of the 2024 BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Competition for their feature film, The Fat Mermaid Club.
Selected for the Jed Mercurio & Amazon Mentorship Programme, Hannah is the mentee of writer and producer Steven Moffat OBE, best known for Sherlock and Doctor Who(BBC One).
Their play, Godmodders & Metagamers, was selected for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 37 Plays Project. Their works for theatre have been performed at The White Bear Theatre, The Showroom, Barons Court Theatre and the Guildford Fringe.
Their commitment to telling queer stories was recognised with their play, When We Die (What Will Become of Us?), winning the prestigious Nancy Dean Lesbian Playwriting Award in 2023. They are currently a member of BAFTA Connect
