About me

Elizabeth is the Founder & Artistic Director of Sort Sol, a company using theatre as a form of activism. As a writer and artist, her work centres around socio-political issues and focuses heavily on the female identity.

Her critically acclaimed play ‘Where have all our women gone?’ examines male violence against women and girls in the wake of Sarah Everard’s murder. Following its London tour, Elizabeth was invited to perform the work for The British Association of Women in Policing.

Last year, Elizabeth became the first playwright to be commissioned by the police. She wrote and performed an original piece of work, ‘Angiolini’ which explores the evidence brought to light in the Angiolini Review. Over the last two years, she has written and performed for The British Association for Women in Policing, The National Police Conference for VAWG and Leicestershire Police’s Women’s Inclusive Network; her work is used within the institution to create change around women’s safety.

Her most recent writing project, ‘Attempts to replace her’ was created in collaboration with pianist and BBC Music’s Rising Stars of 2024, Xiaowen Shang, and international Choreographer Stephanie Burrell. Premiered at The Royal Academy of Music, this new work challenges the boundaries of theatrical performance and combines live piano, text and choreography to re-imagine the contemporary female identity.

Elizabeth is the recipient of the Sir Paul McCartney Human Spirit Award, a BBC Carleton Hobbs Award nominee and an Off West End ‘Adopt a Playwright Award’ nominee.
