About me

D.B.A. Rep (he/him) graduated from the MA Playwriting program at the University of Manchester, UK, in 2021. He took classes with Chloë Moss, Tim Price and Anders Lustgarten, and further workshops by Simon Stephens, Tom Wright and Tee O’Neil. Extracts from his monologue play “Goat Punishment” about the aftermath of a terrorist attack were performed at the Martin Harris Theatre in Manchester. His first full-length play „Shoulders of Giants” about fraud and mental health in academia was longlisted by London Playwrights, who called it ‘a brilliant script’, while his short play „Fa**ot Building” was shortlisted for the Kibo Festival in London, and received a staged reading by London’s Page2Stage. He is currently writing a biographical play about George Orwell.

In addition to writing, he is also an actor, performing in European tours of plays and musicals such as „War Horse” and „Come From Away”.

Shoulders of Giants


Synopsis:

On the day of his retirement party, eminent physicist Andreas Adelman finds himself held at gunpoint in his bedroom by former PhD student Kristin. She confronts him about how, ten years ago, his successful scientific career and her tragically failed PhD got intertwined. Scenes from their shared past come to life around them, slowly unhinging from the laws of physics.
