About me

I've always written in some form or other. Words and language fascinate me. As a kid I would read the back of a cornflake packet or the label on a tin.

I come from Liverpool, born into a working class family and consider myself working class.

My life experience has accrued over time through various jobs but I have travelled a lot. After dropping out of an English degree I obtained a teaching degree and taught English in Further Education. A lot of my students came from under-privileged backgrounds.

Sending my work out has resulted in lots of helpful and positive feedback from theatre companies including Liverpool Everyman, Liverpool Royal Court, Bread and Roses Theatre and many other, even Papatango.  I have been a script reader for the Liverpool Everyman and had scripts accepted for 'in hand' readings and Scratch a number of times.

My work needs to reach out further now.
