About me
I'm currently writing two plays, 'Smileys' and 'Stopping'.
I've worked in theatre for 7 years, since graduating Rose Bruford College on the BA (Hons) European Theatre Arts course.
Since graduating from Rose Bruford I have worked predominantly as an actor, with a strong base in devised theatre. I am now pursuing playwriting, so while these are my first two attempts at writing full length plays, I have lots of experience in creating theatre and performance. I am taking all of my storytelling experience that I have gained over the last ten years and am now turning it towards the page, rather than the rehearsal room.
I have previously worked as a writer for Total Theatre Magazine, creating journalistic and non-fiction works for their website.
I have devised two pieces of physical theatre with my previous theatre company Romantika. The Crossing Place and What Lies Beneath were performed at notable UK venues such as The Curve and Summerhall, and were also performed internationally at Vastmanlands Teater in Sweden and Dreams Before Dawn Festival in France.
I am also an Associate Artist of Todos Teatro, who make accessible children's theatre, with whom I co-devised their show Turtle's Don't Like Plastic.
I'm looking froward to all the opportunities that Papatango's Playwrights' Stuidio provides!
