About me
I am an emerging playwright from the South West, who writes dialogue-led drama with humour and pathos. My plays tell unheard stories with a research based lens, and I like to experiment with fun forms like drag! My first play Elise, about forgotten female beat-poet Elise Cowen, performed at the Pleasance Courtyard in 2018, and was shortlisted for the Mental Health Fringe Award. Gluck’s Flowers, about the queer relationship between a 1930’s non-binary painter and a florist, toured with Theatre West in May 2024 around galleries in the South West. In 2023 I created a play with researchers from University of Exeter and parent-carers about their wellbeing as carers. Sharing at Exeter Phoenix, an audience member said “I didn’t know I was a carer until I saw this play”. I am currently developing Smalltown Boy, a drag-theatre show with Bristol Old Vic, which is looking to tour later this year. I also enjoy leading writing workshops, am interested in community work, and looking to explore collaborations.
