About me
I have been working as a theatremaker and producer since 2016, but in 2022 I made a pivot into writing. In 2022, I received a Developing Your Creative Practice grant to write my first solely authored play - having previously had co-writing credits for ‘We Are Outlaws’ (2018) commissioned by the Centenary Cities, and ‘Whodunnit at the Coliseum?’ (2021), an interactive murder mystery commissioned by Oldham Coliseum Theatre. Over the next year, I authored ‘The V Word’ under the mentorship of Chair of the Writers’ Guild, Lisa Holdsworth, and also wrote ‘Seize the Day’ for Red Ladder Theatre Company – originally written as a stage piece, and then captured as a short film.
Since then, I have worked as a Dramaturg, and been shortlisted for awards (the Kay Mellor Fellowship 2024 & 2025, Channel 4 Writing for TV Awards). I am part of New Writing North’s Script Development Group for 2024/25.
I am deeply interested in the intersection between arts and health as a tool for activism, having lived with persistent pain for 10 years. I have a genuine instinct for creating proudly female-led ideas, and aspire to write plays with broad resonance that are simultaneously anarchic and meaningful.
