About me
Alan Thomas Boyd started his writing career when he returned to Scotland from living in Spain in 2010 and began writing his memoir which was released in 2012. This was followed up with a self-published short story book ‘Never Died A Winter Yet’ in 2014.
He attended an ‘Introduction to Playwriting’ course in 2016 run by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before embarking on writing his first play Remote.
His stories have recurring themes of loneliness, mental illness, domestic violence, grief and aspiration.
He has recently created new works with the support of Creative Scotland and is currently working on a play about how childhood memories can impact our mental health and take us to breaking point.
He is a regular audience member at all theatres in Glasgow as well as new writing nights Stage to Page and Short Attention Span Theatres supporting new and emerging playwrights.
