A SQUARE GO
Synopsis:
SYNOPSIS
A Square Go is a hard hitting, 90 min drama inspired by a groundbreaking psycho-therapy course pioneered in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The male participants are from a wide variety of backgrounds, and all have been found guilty of a serious, violent crime.
They are offered a choice; do the twenty five week rehabilitation course or go to jail. If at any time during this period they offend again or fail to fully engage with the course, they can be jailed. Upon completion the courts ask the group’s tutor to recommend a community sentence or a jail term for each participant, based upon their progress.
Many participants have stated if they had known beforehand what they would have to go through they would have opted for a jail sentence instead.
“In your head you’re sayin’, what are they going to think of me if I tell them everything? But the other guys see right through your bullshit. In the room there’s no escape, they push you further, to the stuff you never tell no one.”
