About me

Adam Iqbal is a British Pakistani playwright and former teacher based in Nottingham. His work focuses on increasing representation of South Asian and Muslim stories and creating engaging narratives for young audiences. His debut play, PAKIt In, premiered at Derby Theatre to critical acclaim and is set to tour in 2025. His upcoming play, ANNEXED, is currently in research and development.

 

Adam is a published writer, contributing to HEAR ME NOW Vol. 2 in collaboration with Tamasha Theatre and Belgrade Coventry. He was also an associate artist with New Perspectives and part of the inaugural Nottingham Playhouse Writers Group. His work has been supported by Arts Council England, and he won the Write Track competition at Mansfield Palace Theatre.

 

With a background in education and project management, Adam brings a unique perspective to storytelling, blending lived experiences with compelling narratives that explore identity, relationships, and power dynamics.
