About me
Proud working class Blackpool born playwright based in Salford.
As a working class playwright in the early stages of my career I like to explore the themes that are important to me through the use of dramatic dialogue, spoken word, humour, colloquialisms, twists and delving into the human experience. I am also keen to explore ways making the most of theatres visual elements by pushing what can be done with movement and stage direction.
Typically I find myself exploring themes of class, community, positive male relationships, loneliness and social change to name just a few subjects. I've spent a long time thinking about how to engage working class communities like my own within the world of theatre in a way that would be fit for the 21st century, I don't quite have the answer yet but I'm hoping to get there eventually.
I am currently and proudly involved in the Northern Broadsides 'Life in a Northern Town' project.
